WHAT IS BALAYAGE?
Balayage, in the French term, means “to sweep”. In a hairstylists language, this technically means that the highlights are softly hand-painted onto the strands or random sections of hair. This creates a much more natural finish and hair gradient, whereas highlighted hair is much more saturated with brighter results. Balayage and highlights are both hair-lightening techniques, however balayage not only looks good, it’s super low maintenance and ensures a more natural root regrowth, too.
The balayage hair colour technique has proved increasingly popular in recent years, with celebrities from Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Cara Delevingne, to Hailey Bieber and Olivia Palermo sporting the sunkissed highlight trend.
